 Vanished: Trestle of Elevated TrainThis gigantic trestle used to carry the 9th Avenue El around the corner of what is now Columbus Ave. and 110th St. On the left of the first image is Morningside Park, which has not changed much since. Today, you can still see a building on this site whose side is oddly chopped off to make room for this structure, which is long gone. Here is a drawing of this structure made when it was new.
