Historic Lamp Posts

The historic lamp-posts seen below are located on Columbus Ave. at 110th St. At the very least, our existing lamp-posts should be painted an appropriate dark-green color, rather than the visually grating metalic silver they are now. We also have hopes that the installation of historic lamp-posts in the new Hudson River Park downtown can be extended up to our section of Riverside Drive and possibly even the Henry Hudson Parkway.

Another local problem is the tendency of the Parks Dept. to replace the nice historic lamps in Riverside Park with ugly plastic imitations, seen above. It makes the whole park look cheap and make-do, and they are very capricious about which neighborhoods get this treatment.
