Cathedral of St. John the Divine Phase I Study

Design Underway

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine has long languished below the potential inherent in its magnificent site for lack of money and planning. This will soon be rectified by the efforts of Wendy Feuer, who did Columbia's master plan.

There is talk of building a religious conference and training center on the cathedral grounds, complete with hotel facilities. A working group from the community will be working with the cathedral staff to address any community concerns about the design. The picture below shows the parking lots, currently used by St. Luke's Hospital, on the north side of the cathedral.
